MTS Ivory, Buzz and Alive smartphones arrive in India

Smartphones seem to be a growing trend, as most mobile enthusiasts want phones which can perform a myriad of tasks at the same time. MTS has announced a lineup of smartphones for Indian consumers entitled, Alive, Buzz and Ivory. Designed to work on the CDMA2000 technology platform, these smartphones will come with comprehensive data packages. The handsets proffers 3.1Mbps internet speeds, thus rendering easy access to 15 SNSs like Facebook, Twitter, and Windows Live Messenger.
The MTS Alive is the most affordable phone in this series. It bundles up features like 1.3MP camera featuring video recording capabilities, multi-format music player, Bluetooth with A2DP for wireless stereo music streaming. The handset is loaded with an in-built Opera Mini browser. The device is packed with Hi-Speed Access to more than 15 websites like Twitter, Facebook, MSN, Orkut, Yahoo Messenger, G-Talk, Weather updates, Cric Info, Picasa, and News. Fitted with a 3G-CDMA touchscreen display, its memory can be expanded up to 8GB.
Vsevolod Rozanov, President & CEO, SSTL commented, “MTS Smart Phones are among the most competitive and fully loaded devices which will set a benchmark in the industry with the 3G capabilities. I am confident that MTS smart phones will take smart phone services in India to a new level ensuring further expansion of our subscribers in India”.
On the other hand the MTS Buzz adorns a 2.4” display and comes in a dual mode both CDMA and GSM. Featuring a QWERTY keypad, this slim phone enhances the web browsing experience as it offers access to Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo and Google. Coming in black and white, the phone is loaded with an MP3 player, 1.3MP camera and a stereo FM Radio. It offers expandable memory of up to 4GB.
Leonid Musatov, Chief Marketing Officer, SSTL stated, “The MTS Smart Phones will change the way life style mobile devices are being used by the young and upwardly mobile professionals in India. Instant Messengers, social networking and MTS TV applications in these smart phones will take the subscribers to a new era of mobile broadband experience. I am positive that MTS customers will enjoy these affordable smart phones and appreciate the new bundled voice and data tariff plans.”
The MTS-Ivory is the high end device offering internet speeds of up to 3.1Mbps. Entertainment buffs can watch 60 channels with MTS TV on the 3.2” WQVGA full touchscreen display. The Ivory equips Microsoft exchange push mail access for Twitter, Yahoo Messenger, G-talk, Facebook, Orkut, MSN, Crininfo, Picasa, and more. The phone is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled. Sporting a 2MP camera, its memory can be expanded up to 4GB.
The company will provide 20GB free data usage for the initial two months. These handsets begin from Rs. 4,999. Subscribers can choose between limited or unlimited tariff plans from Rs. 192 to Rs. 1099. Buzz users can access free usage of voice and data services for Rs. 1795 with lifetime validity. On the other hand Ivory and Alive, proffer free usage of voice and data worth Rs. 2295 again with lifetime validity. The normal 1p/second tariff plans for all local and STD calls is applicable to all three smartphones, along with Rs. 2 per MB base tariff for data usage. Additionally, Ivory users can access two months or free subscription mobile TV according to their individual tariff plans.
